The South Rim:
Open All Year
The South Rim is open 24 hours a day and provides most visitor services such as camping, lodging, and restaurants. Camping and hotel reservations are strongly recommended during spring and summer.
The North Rim:
Main Season - Mid-May to Mid-October
North Rim camping, hotels and food services within the park are opened from mid-May to mid-October due to winter weather conditions.
Getting around:
There are various tours and guided parks in the North Rim when the opening hours occur. The outside enthusiasts come to play and explore the Grand Canyon based on their personal research and have restricted boundaries within the attraction. The Grand Canyon can be accessed by foot, skis or snowshoes. Hikers and cross-country skiers are allowed to use the park's group campsites throughout the winter months if they have obtained a permit through the park's Backcountry Information Centre.
